Carrie A. Singer is a 2002 graduate of Kent State University, and earned a Masters Degree in Education, with an emphasis in Community Counseling. She gained subsequent work experiences in a child/adolescent community mental health agency. Employment and volunteer work at two different rape crisis agencies enhanced Carrie’s skills in the treatment of victims-trauma.

In 2007, Carrie Singer received advanced training in Prolonged Exposure Therapy, (PET) and applied this expertise within a study of this evidence-based treatment method conducted by Kent State University and Summa Health System. PET was selected by the Department of Defense as a Best Practice for returning veterans demonstrating symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Carrie is also trained to treat trauma using Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and she is proficient in using Seeking Safety for individuals who are dual diagnosed with PTSD and substance abuse disorders. Carrie is now trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) by an EMIDRIA-Approved program. She hopes to use this modality to treat current clients who are wanting to heal from the effects of trauma and PTSD.

Carrie Singer received an award as a “Portage County Hero” from The Portage County Council for the Prevention of Violence during National Crime Victims’ Right Week in 2006. She has delivered presentations regarding Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Prolonged-Exposure Therapy in the treatment of traumatized children, adolescents, and adults.

Additional areas of clinical interest and special focus areas include Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder,
traumatic grief and loss, depression, Adjustment Disorders, women’s issues, stress management, life coaching, the treatment of trauma and mental health disorders in individuals with Developmental Disabilities, and coping with chronic illness and medical trauma. Carrie Singer provides counseling services to the following groups: Children (ages 8 and up), adolescents, and adults.

Christine Sayre, LPCC-S is an independently licensed supervising professional clinical counselor with extensive experience providing therapy to adolescents, adults, and families facing a wide range of mental health concerns. She has specialized expertise in working with individuals diagnosed with personality disorders, intellectual disabilities, and families navigating high-conflict dynamics.

In addition to her clinical practice, Ms. Sayre conducts forensic custody evaluations in high-conflict domestic relations cases and is certified by the Ohio Supreme Court as a forensic custody evaluator pursuant to Rule 91. She has received advanced training in divorce and custody mediation (including intimate partner violence assessment), parent coordination, forensic evaluation, and the administration, interpretation, and reporting of psychological assessments such as the MMPI-3 and PAI. Her professional background also includes family reunification work, therapeutic visitation, and co-parent counseling and coaching.

Ms. Sayre integrates evidence-based approaches, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and trauma-informed care, to support clients in managing and overcoming complex mental health challenges. Beyond her clinical and forensic services, she is certified as a Spiritual Director through the Haden Institute, where she provides spiritual direction to individuals seeking to deepen their connection to themselves, others, and the sacred.

Mr. Singer holds a master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Kent State University. Mr. Singer has also earned a bachelor’s degree in Criminology and invested many years of learning at the University of Akrons’ Counselor Education and Supervision doctoral program. Mr. Singer has completed post graduate training in addiction counseling which includes: Pain Management and the Opioid Epidemic-Progress and Future Directions in Research on Pain and Opioid Use Disorder, Treating Adolescent Substance Use Disorder, & Psychosocial Interventions for Mental and Substance Use Disorders.

Mr. Singer has served in advocacy and empowerment roles for individuals with disabilities, mental health, and substance abuse issues for over three decades. In 2011, he was awarded the Summit County Service Award from the State of Ohio. He has worked internationally with adolescents diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders and their
families using an evidence based psychosocial approach to community integration, biofeedback, and daily life skills trainings. Mr. Singer is published as well. He published in the Journal of Applied Rehabilitation Counseling and in the International Journal of Psychosocial Rehabilitation. Mr. Singer also presented on multicultural perspectives on history, life, education, healthcare, and illness in the Spring of 2005 at the University of Akron and on suicide prevention at the Ohio Counseling Association conference in Columbus, OH.

Mr. Singer has clinical interest in addiction counseling, vocational counseling, relapse prevention, psychosocial remedies to autism spectrum disorders, grief and loss and spirituality and wellbeing.

Christie Rush is a Licensed Independent Social Worker with Supervisory designation (LISW-S), licensed through the Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapy Board of Ohio. She brings over seven years of experience spanning clinical mental health, hospice, long-term care, and child welfare. Her work is dedicated to supporting individuals and families through complex challenges, with a specialized focus on forensic custody evaluations in high-conflict court cases, always prioritizing the best interests of children while complying with Ohio Supreme Court Rule 91 and Guardian Ad Litem Rule 48. In addition to serving as a Guardian Ad Litem and Forensic Custody Evaluator, Christie has also conducted assessments of individuals in psychiatric facilities and hospital behavioral health units to determine appropriateness for discharge planning to the community through PASRR Level II reviews.

Christie is trained in MMPI-3 administration, interpretation, and reporting, and is skilled in conducting psychological assessments, reunification counseling in high-conflict custody cases, and crisis management. In her therapeutic role, she integrates evidence-based approaches including CBT, DBT, ACT, Motivational Interviewing, grief counseling, and trauma-informed care to provide compassionate and effective support tailored to each client’s needs.

A graduate of Case Western Reserve University with a Master of Science in Social Administration (MSSA) focused on child welfare, Christie also holds a Bachelor of Social Work and an Associate of Applied Science in Community Services with a certificate in Gerontology from the University of Akron. She is also trained as an Ombudsman Associate to advocate for those in long term care facilities.

Beyond her clinical and forensic practice, Christie is deeply engaged in her community. She serves on the Board of Directors for ICH, volunteers with her local church wellness team, and actively supports charitable initiatives. Christie is committed to advocating for vulnerable populations across the lifespan while fostering healthier families and stronger communities.
